Chris Bernheisel (24) Happiness is just flying everywhere as Chris explodes in song and dance and handstands. There’s happiness on the floor, the ceiling, smeared on the door.  Someone grab a mop and get this happiness off of the stage before someone slips and hurts themselves. Ryan!  Simon says no to Hollywood, but yes to Chris announcing American Idol for Fox 42.

Jason Rich (21)  Part time farmer, full time dreamer.  This audition was his worst nightmare though. He choked and forgot the lyrics.  I’m amazed Simon and Randy let him keep going, but he did sound good once he got the words out.  Even more amazing, he made it through to Hollywood. 

Rachael Wicker (23) Arm wrestling champ wants to take Simon down. Even before her judging. She sounded like Dolly Parton and even looked a little bit like her, without the hair, nails makeup, glitz, glamour or the girls.

Sarah Whittaker (25) Goth wrestler. Mawhahaha. A male version of Marilyn Manson

Ryan comes in to plead her case so he and Paula swap places for the next audition.

Samantha Sidley (22) She can sing but her showmanship needs some work. Ryan gives her his vote and sets a trend for the hopefuls.

Elizabeth Erkert (19) She heard it on the grapevine, and the answer was Yes, yes, yes

Denise Jackson (17) A gazillion percent yes

Michael Sanfilippo (19) Absolutely yes.  Is that more or less than a gazillion? 

Angelica Puente (17) Powerful voice, but she’s mimicking rather than showcasing her own voice.  She shows great promise but she needs to find her own voice before arriving in Hollywood.  She calls Daddy with the good news.

David Cook (24)  He has a husky, hoarse tone of voice, but he needs to rock the bod along with the lyrics.

Johnny Escamilla (18)  All sparkly and spastic.  He actually scared the hiccups out of Paula.  

Leo Marlowe (23) His mama said she raised a perfect homecoming queen, too bad it wasn’t one of her daughters. Ah, it’s good to be popular.  Especially when you’re popular with Simon, Paula and Randy.  Leo’s going to H-land to be a queen in the city of bling.
