After the vote, Heba and Ed are appreciative to still be in the house
LT had an extra vote so he’s hoping that will buy him good will if he falls below the yellow line this week.
Bob prepares his team for bad news because week 2 is notoriously tough. What do you expect if you lose 20 pounds in one week? Michelle has other issues, spending time with her mom after being estranged for five years. Jillian took some time to talk with her and basically told her “you need to take care of you.” That’s good advice period.
Bob crossed the line, the yellow line going down the middle of the gym. He ripped it off the floor, and now the gym is just one big happy sweaty place. Ok, big and sweaty - not sure about the happy.
Jerry is doing a ton better in just one week. He’s working through the aches and pains and hasn’t keeled over dead.
The players are gathered to bid on how much weight they think they will lose. If they meet their goal, they’ll win $10K, but if they don’t they’ll automatically drop below the yellow line. The average weight lose per week is 2.0, so Phil stepped up and bid 1%. LT was tempted by the cash and upped the ante. Coleen jumped in at 1.4 and Phil kept the bids going, followed by LT and Shellay. Coleen tempted fate bidding 2.1% but Shellay and LT didn’t give up without a fight. Coleen and Jerry won (?) the bidding war with 2.4% which is 14 pounds.
Jillian wasn’t thrilled to hear the news, but she’s more than willing to beat the 14 pounds off of them.
The teams race in a sprint and slide reward challenge, sliding down hill and sprinting back up again. They have to buzz in within 2 minutes or they’ll be eliminated. LT and Coleen have to carry the weight of their team, competing in every round. The last team standing will win a phone call home.
Ed made it down the hill first, but Michelle was the first one back. Brady was eliminated in the first round, hobbling up the hill. Turns out he and Vicky decided to through the competition.
Amy was eliminated in round 2 and LT in round 3. Coleen got a workout hiking up the hill through 16 rounds. She’ll need it to lose the 14 pounds. It was down Ed and Shellay head to head. Ed and Heba won the phone call plus they can choose another team to call home too. They picked Phil and Amy because they had three boys at home, including their youngest who has autism.
Rocco Dispirito arrived to show the contestants how to cook well affordably. One member from each team will shop and cook and then the best tasting meal will receive a prize, free groceries for a year. Amy won with tiny turkey meatballs. Check out Rocco’s recipes
At the weigh in Vicky and Brady step up first. They had huge numbers last week and week 2 wasn’t too shabby - Vicky lost 4 pounds and Brady lost 7.
Shellay (-3) and Amy (-3) were happy they didn’t win the bidding war after all.
Michelle (-2) and Renee (-5) were gracious and happy with how far they’ve come, even if it doesn’t show up on the scale.
Amy (-4) and Phil (-8) were pleasantly surprised.
Ed (-9) and Heba (-2) Ed lost weight and nearly lost his wedding band when it fell off his finger.
LT (+3) and Tom (-3) Whoa, that’s a jaw dropper.
Last up, Coleen (-6) and Jerry (-5) below their goal of 14 pounds. With 1.93% they should have been in 3rd place, but instead they’re below the yellow line. Last week it was husbands and wives and this week it’s parent and child.
LT and Tom are the biggest threat because their big boys with a lot of weight to lose.
Ed and Heba stay loyal to LT and Tom. In the end it wasn’t enough and LT and Tom were eliminated.
Four months later, Tom has lost a total of 65 pounds and LT has lost 81.
