The Biggest Loser - Knocking on Obesity’s Door

Shellay was NOT the Biggest Loser. The Black Team kept Phil in the hopes he would drop some big pounds. Jillian encourages her team to get a little more competitive - jeez, at least do the homework. Phil needs to step up for his team even it means sending his wife, Amy, home.

Bob took his team on a field trip for a different kind of work out, swinging on a trapeze and wrapped in fabric. Amy was flexible and Brady muscled through the challenge. After the ropes the girls learned to defend themselves against an assailant. Amy P was sweet as peach cobbler, whereas Heba didn’t play and kicked his booty.

The Black Team strapped up to climb poles and step out on a tiny platform, then take a leap of faith. Phil didn’t even hesitate, he just went for it. Michelle and Renee walked across a narrow beam to each other, which was symbolic of their relationship coming together. Coleen overcame her fear and climbed the pole, even if she cried the entire way up.

After their death defying challenges, the players find out how far they’ve come in their pursuit of longer, healthier lives. It was good news, if you consider knocking on the door of obesity instead of MORBID obesity good news.

The bad news, it’s time for another challenge. The players have to walk across water on a round balance beam. The first team to clock 25 laps win a video from home. It doesn’t take long for Amy to fall in the water, followed quickly by Vicky and then Heba. Brady was the only one left standing on the Beam. Phil took his time and clocked the first lap. Coleen fell in but the remaining Black Team members inched around the beam. Brady fell in and the Black Team was sitting on the sideline while Phil, Michelle and Renee clocked lap after lap. After 16 laps, Michelle and Phil fell in, leaving Renee all by her lonesome. Renee finished up the last 9 laps and won the reward for her team.

Vicky was a sore loser, claiming the prize was lame and she didn’t care about it to start with. Bob was disappointed by their performance and their crappy attitude. They should have fun and force themselves to face uncomfortable situations.

Instead of a video, the winners got to interact with their families on video conference. Michelle cried (natch) at the encouraging words from dad, and Coleen got to see her dad. He’s off his meds and has lost even more weight since leaving the ranch. Coleen’s boyfriend couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked. Renee got to see her hubby, but her other daughters were MIA. It was a great boost, no matter what Vicky says.

Jillian made it her personal goal to make someone puke during the last chance workout. Phil was her prime target and when he said “I can’t” then left the gym he didn’t earn any Jilly points. Phil walked out of the gym and Coleen had a tantrum.

After the work out, Brady and Vicky had a story for Heba. Phil approached them to keep Amy if they lose the weigh in and vote out Heba. Well, that’s not going to happen. If they lose the weigh in, Amy P is so out of there.

Renee weighted in first. She lost 7 pounds, putting her at 225. Michelle lost 7 and Coleen lost 8 pounds putting her at 179. These girls are T-U-F-F. Phil better step up or he’ll be packing his bags. He lost 7 pounds, which was ok, but not stellar. Overall though, he’s lost 59 pounds.

The Blue Team has their work cut out for them. Amy C lost 6 pounds, putting her at 193. Heba’s lost 5 pounds. Uhoh, it’s not looking good for the Blue Team. Vicky lost 8 pounds. Amy lost 2 pounds so Brady only needs to lose 16 pounds. No biggie. Except he only lost 3 pounds. The fix is in! Vicky had a smug grin on her face and Brady wouldn’t win any awards for his “shocked” reaction.

Amy P pled her case and learned about Phil’s antics. There’s not much she can do to split up the three amigos, Brady, Vicky and Heba. I hope they all three go down in flames. I’m not a fan of Amy P or Phil, but I really don’t like Vicky and Brady. They’re schemers.
