Matty feels like he’s been in a terrible position since the beginning of the game, so when Ace approaches him to be in an alliance until the merge he jumps on it. Matty wants to bring Ken along and Ace wants to bring along Sugar. Now Ace if feeling pretty cocky because he has an alliance, plus Sugar gave him the immunity idol.
Dan is eating twice as much as anyone else in Kota and it’s not going unnoticed. Fang is nearly out of rice so they’ll have to ration servings until the merge.
The reward challenge came at the perfect time. The tribes are tethered to a snake running laps and chasing one another. The first tribe to tag the other tribe will win platters of pastry plus coffee makings. Yummy. Kota was catching Fang until they started dumping players, Kenny, Sugar and Kelly. Fang was able to move a little faster but they couldn’t make up for the extra weight. When Crystal dropped out, Matty and Ace struggled to carry the weight for their tribe, but the boys on Kota ran them down. The reward was a huge boost for the Kota tribe and a huge downer for Fang. Crystal broke down in tears. Kelly thought it was a sign of weakness, especially since she broke down in front of Kato.
Sugar ended up back on Exile but instead of living it up, she’s feeling guilty. Dan doesn’t feel guilty stuffing his pie hole with delicious Danish. Luckily the Kota tribe decided to ration the reward so everyone got their fair share.
At the immunity challenge, the tribes will have to complete an obstacle course. The tribes are split into pairs. The pairs are tethered together as they run thru the course to retrieve pole pieces. The first pairs are Kelly and Sugar and Bob and Randy. Kelly and Sugar moved through the course quickly but Bob made up time untangling knots and Kota was back to the mat first. Ace and Crystal had to make up considerable time against Charlie and Corinne. They did close the gap. The last pair was Matty and Ken and Marcus and Dan. Matty and Ken gained a ton of ground climbing over the obstacle instead of climbing through it. On the way back Kota learned a lesson and went on top of the obstacles too, so the two teams finished neck in neck. It all came down to the assembling the pieces of a pole. Ace edged out his teammates, determined to put the pole together on his own and lost the challenge. He might just need that idol tonight.
Matty wants to flush the idol out, but Ace does his best to put his mind at ease. Ace wants to vote Kelly. When Crystal talked to Matty she knew something was up. She and Ken both want to get rid of Ace. Does Ken realize he’s in an alliance with the guy? Apparently not. Ken decided to talk to Sugar and found out Ace had the idol. He told Sugar she needed to get it back in her hands.
At tribal council the fractures deepened with Kelly calling Crystal “unstable”, Kelly calling Ace “double talker” and Ace calling Kelly “stupid” in so many words. Kelly was eliminated which was good, she was weak and a trouble maker.
