Role overview

As the HR Coordinator for Ice Barrel, you will play a crucial role in shaping the human resources strategy to support our company’s growth and foster a culture of self-awareness, improved communication skills, and individual and team development. This position is vital in nurturing a cohesive and motivated team that operates effectively, whether in the office or remotely.

  6. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in HR software and tools to streamline HR processes, ensuring efficient management of employee data, payroll and benefits.
  7. Empathy: Understand the needs and concerns of employees and approach HR matters with compassion to build trust and rapport within the team.
  8. Resourcefulness: Find cost-effective solutions to HR needs, considering the limitations of resources in a startup environment.
  9. Legal Knowledge: Maintain a solid understanding of employment laws, contracts and regulations to ensure HR compliance and protect the company from legal issues.
  10. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Use data and analytics to make informed HR decisions, improving performance, recruitment and other aspects of HR.
  11. Ethical Conduct: Maintain high ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.

Certifications (Minimal Level)

  • PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional): A minimum requirement for this position is the attainment of either the PHR or SHRM-CP certification, demonstrating a foundation in HR best practices and compliance.

  4. Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
  5. Employee Engagement: Implement initiatives to create a strong sense of belonging and engagement among remote and in-office employees, building a vibrant company culture.
  6. Performance Management: Establish and oversee performance evaluation processes to measure and improve employee performance, helping them reach their full potential.
  7. Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts and issues within the team, mediating disputes and conducting difficult conversations to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  8. Communication Skills Enhancement: Work with teams to improve communication skills, both internally and externally, ensuring effective and clear communication.
  9. Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure HR practices remain compliant with company policies and budget constraints.
  10. Resourceful Solutions: Find cost-effective and innovative solutions to HR needs, considering the limitations of resources in a startup environment.
  11. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data and analytics to make informed HR decisions, enhancing performance, recruitment, and other aspects of HR.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on coaching, team development and startup HR.
  • Experience in managing remote teams or employees is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance and regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the DTC or e-commerce industry is advantageous.
  • Understanding of employment laws, contracts and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools for efficient HR management.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality are essential.
