Welcome to the future of cold

We're thrilled you chose us to be part of your journey. Our goal is to make your experience as enjoyable and meaningful as possible. As you get started on this new chapter in your cold therapy story, please explore these resources we’ve created to guide and support you.

  • Aim for below 60°F (15.5°C)

Experienced ice bathers prefer below 60°F for therapeutic benefits. If sensitive, start warmer and adapt gradually.

  • Focus on your breath

Activate your parasympathetic nervous system by slowly inhaling through your nose and exhaling.

  • Submerge up to your neck

Exposing cold to the neck and thyroid gland is important in improved body regulation and enhanced cold adaptation.

  • Stay in for at least 2 minutes

Gradually increase length starting from 30-60 second dips adapting to your body's response aiming for 3-5 minutes.

Frequently

asked questions

Do I need to clean my Ice Barrel before I use it?

Rinse the inside of the barrel with water and cleaning soap before first use to ensure the water is clean and free of debris.

What is the optimal temperature for an ice bath?

Your ice bath temperature should be below 60°F (15.5°C). We recommend easing into your practice, allowing your body to get used to lower temperatures and building up a tolerance slowly over time. If you’re just starting out, start closer to 60°F and lower the temperature over a few sessions. More experienced ice bathers tend to use temperatures between 40-50°F (4-10°C) as their body becomes more cold adapted.

How long should I soak in an ice bath?

We recommend staying fully submerged in the ice bath for 3-5 minutes, depending on how your body responds to the cold. For those just starting out, try shorter dips at warmer temperatures (near 60°F) and build up to longer ones as you get more comfortable. As always, listen to your body and don’t push past what you’re comfortable with. It’s better to build resistance slowly over time.

How do I clean and maintain the Ice Barrel?

The Ice Barrel requires very little maintenance. We recommend changing the water every four weeks or as preferred. You can keep your water cleaner by using a water stabilizer. We recommend our maintenance kit, which includes everything you’ll need to keep your Ice Barrel clean and functional.

Does Ice Barrel have a chiller?

Yes! The Ice Barrel Chiller is now available for purchase. Order today to be one of the first to get the world’s most advanced cold therapy chiller.
