How do I use my HSA or FSA funds to purchase an Ice Barrel?
Ice Barrel purchases are eligible for reimbursement using HSA or FSA funds. The first step is to complete your purchase on icebarrel.com as usual. After purchase, you will see a link to complete the Truemed intake survey to acquire a Letter of Medical Necessity. This link will also be included in your post-purchase email confirmation. Your Letter of Medical Necessity and your receipt for purchase can be submitted to your HSA or FSA provider for reimbursement.
How long does it take to get approved for a Letter of Medical Necessity?
It takes only a few minutes to complete the intake form! Many users will be instantly approved and able to complete their purchase. Once approved, you will receive your Letter of Medical Necessity via email.
How long will it take for me to receive my reimbursement?
Most FSA and HSA administrators approve these expenses within days of when you submit. The exact timing will depend on your specific administrator.
I don’t have enough HSA or FSA funds to cover the full purchase. Can I use what I have?
Yes! You can submit for partial reimbursement. You will make your purchase at the listed price and submit your Letter of Medical Necessity and receipt to your HSA or FSA administrator. Your administrator can then reimburse you with whatever remaining balance you have in your account if it is less than the purchase price.
How long does a Letter of Medical Necessity last?
Letters of Medical Necessity are valid for 12 months before they need to be renewed.
